Episode 36 seen us take a trip down memory lane as we interviewed former Bishopbriggs Academy PE teacher; Miss Woods (Melanie Woods). Miss Woods has a truly inspirational and motivational story to tell. In January 2018 Mel was out for a bike ride in the Highlands when a car accidentally drove into her where she suffered fatal injuries which meant that she will never walk again. Miss Woods discussed the day that changed her life and how watching para-athletes on TV whilst in her hospital bed gave her added motivation and determination to do something similar. Mel spoke about the challenges of rehab and the range of sports she tried out including sit skiing as she aimed to continue that love for sport and physical activity. Lastly, Miss Woods discussed her goals for the future where she is aspiring to represent Scotland at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and then onto Paralympics.
