Luke 2:41-3:20
Jesus’ Childhood is a mystery. There are a couple of events recorded just after his birth and then silence until age 12. Luke records just one event from all of Jesus’ childhood. This one event gives us a glimpse at Jesus, who even as a child was preparing for His ultimate purpose.
As Jesus was preparing, John the Baptist has begun to prepare the people. His message and his methods were a throwback to the prophets of old. The generation he was reaching out to had never been confronted with this message face to face. His words were powerful and pointed. He did not hold back. In many ways, they might just be what the church needs to hear today.
