For Verbs

Plain Forms:

きょう べんきょうする。(with rising intonation) 

Are you going to study today?

ううん、やらない。

No, I'm not.

Polite Forms:

きょう べんきょうしますか。

Are you going to study today?

いいえ、しません。

No, I'm not.

For な-Adjectives

Plain Forms:

げんき。(with rising intonation)

Are you good?

うん、げんき。

Yes, I'm good.

Polite Forms:

げんきですか。

Are you good?

はい、げんきです。

Yes, I'm good.

For noun + です

Plain Forms:

これ、iPhone。(with rising intonation)

Is this iPhone?

うん、iPhone。

Yes, it is.

Polite Forms:

これ、iPhoneですか。

Is this iPhone?

はい、iPhoneです。

Yes, it is.

<How to say Yes and No>

Polite Forms:

Yes=はい No=いいえ

Plain Forms:

Yes=うん No=ううん

*いや=No (this can be both formal occasion and casual occasion)
