"mo" is used as "also" or " too" in English.
X は Y です。
Z も Y です。
も indicate the similarity between X and Z.

さとうさん は がくせい です。
Mr. Sato is a student.
すずきさん も がくせい です。
Mr. Suzuki is a student, too.
わたし は にほんじん です。
I am a Japanese.
すずきさん も にほんじん です。
Mr. Suzuki is a Japanese, too.
わたし の はは は きょうし です。
My mother is a teacher.
わたし の ちち も きょうし です。
My father is a teacher, too.
