Description

We have questions about...contentment in suffering. Join us for this mid-season chat about what contentment in suffering looks like - what we used to think that meant, and some of the truths we've come to better understand about it as we share about a few areas where we're currently experiencing suffering. "For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross." (Hebrews 12:2 CSB) It's a verse that has often been used to imply believers should only experience and express joy in the midst of trials and suffering. We unpack that a little bit, along with how Jesus' own words can better inform us, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death." (Matthew 26:38 NIV). Long-suffering and leaving at the first signs of suffering, and all the nuance people can and do walk through and experience in between are just a few of the things that come up in this very heartfelt conversation.
