The panel consisted of Dr. Gary Wolfram, professor, and expert in free-market capitalism, Dr. Yascha Mounk, writer and educator who has written on the rise of populism, Dr. Aart Holtslag, Shepherd’s very own esteemed professor and researcher who talked on socialism. The hour and a half discussion has been condensed with a focus on the discussion around capitalism and socialism. Paul Solman, moderator, and a longtime NewsHour correspondent begins the conversation by having the guests define exactly what their respective “isms” are.
