Nah, just kidding. We’re actually discussing Jonathan Glazer’s UNDER THE SKIN (2013), which is an altogether different kind of alien invasion film. One that’s far more contemplative and small scale. With gorgeous, haunting visuals, an arresting score, as little dialogue as possible, and a tremendous physical performance from Scarlett Johansson. It’s the exact opposite of what most mainstream audiences would expect from a typical alien invasion film which makes it a perfect choice to end this series of outlier alien flicks. So park your big white van, submerge yourself in a pool of black goo, and come dream with us while we peel back the layers of UNDER THE SKIN.
