Bhoshaga Mitrran is incredibly passionate on social issues such as plastic pollution, the environment and poverty. A national valedictorian, Bhoshaga was raised in Klang, Malaysia and aspires to work together for a better, cleaner society. In his efforts to fight plastic pollution, he founded Project Newsper, where his team and over 400 volunteers made 21,505 paper bags from one ton of newspapers in a single day, earning them the Malaysia Book of Records. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering at Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), Malaysia. Besides being active in debating, Bhoshaga recently represented South East Asia in the Institution of Mechanical Engineers’ Speak Out for Engineering Public Speaking Competition and won second place at the Global Finals in New Delhi, India, for his efforts in fighting air pollution. When he isn’t enjoying Malaysian food, he can be found playing the piano and spending quality time with friends and family. He strongly believes anything is possible, and his favorite quote, “The sky is no longer the limit, when there are footprints on the moon”.
