1 to Ecuador - where I would have to learn the Spanish language
2 to Zambia - English British spoken there. That's me. God called me there. I said yes to God and in 6 months God provided all that I needed to go.
When I got there, after getting off the plane, I thought I'd like to go back now- Thank God I did not.
At Amano Christian School in Zambia I was called to youth ministry and missions. God worked it all out.
While there, we got to see God changing lives for the better. You can't say I am too old. God has a calling, a purpose and a plan.
In Exodus 3: 1-4, 7, 11 - God called to Moses out of a burning bush. Moses said "Here I am".
God gets our attention.
Will we have an excuse or fear?
God had a purpose for Moses. God still used him and gave him a helper when Moses felt he couldn't speak well.
God's calling
1. Emotional Investment in the work. Help His people to receive.
2. God affirms a person through others. Challenging but encouraging.
3. God gives person mentors
4. God builds on person's strengths and backgrounds. Forming a good character.
5. God often refines person's character. God chisels out those things we need to work on. Nothing is off limits to God. He takes His time to help us.
6. God instills in person value of hard work. It takes prayer, seeking God, hard work, abilities and talents to Glorify His Name.
7. God sustains person, powerful vision continuing to seek God's will.
8. God brings others beside them to compensate for our weaknesses. In NC Rob came alongside me. He helped me check my attitude. My coworkers in Zambia helped each other. To encourage one another, to help one another in areas where we fail, but they were good in those areas.
Romans 8:28 - We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, those who are called according to His purpose.
Continue to run to Him. Every day, seek His calling. Don't fear.
What is your calling? You think you are too old? Moses was 80. Don't say I am done. Be called to the end.
