This well loved artisanal bread company’s recipes have been passed down through generations. With a business named after Andrew Chenard’s great, great grandfather, a love for baking bread and with unwavering support from family, Wilkies Bread could be found on the shelves at it’s wholesale partners or at its location in downtown Pembroke. But back in July 2021, the community was heartbroken after hearing the news that our beloved bakery was closing its doors. However, this isn’t the end for our favourite baker and community partner and Andrew is here to tell us why he made the difficult decision to close his bakery and what’s next in store!
