After initially going into business with her sister with Ottawa Valley Promotions, Adrienne Decaire had a vision in 2019 after a friend showed her a disappointing store bought scrunchie that had poor quality fabric and an elastic that gave way in just a few days.
It was then Adrienne took her idea of creating a fashion forward scrunchie line creating Barbays, named after her mama, which has since become household name in the Ottawa Valley and worn on the wrists and many styles of ponytails throughout women.
Adrienne has since expanded Barbays to include headbands, hair clips, an exclusive club subscription, and more. Adrienne shares how she has since left her two part time jobs, and both she and her husband are running Barbays together, along with their team of boss babes, and how determination, perseverance and branding consistency are the key elements to keeping a trend lasting and customers coming back for more.
