OV Boss Babes Podcast is recognizing 12 influential and powerful female leaders from our community, as they share how they choose to change through raising awareness against bias and taking action for equality. The following women were included in part one of the Women's Collective:
Crystal Martin-Lapenskie is the President and CEO of Okpik Consulting. She specializes in Inuit-specific project management, policy development, strategic planning, and educational resource development for organizations and businesses working within the Inuit community to enhance program and service delivery.
Jodi Bucholtz is the Marketing, Event Planning and Recruitment Coordinator at the Pembroke Campus of Algonquin College. Her goal is to tell the Algonquin College story, a story that reflects the amazing people, the sense of community, and the connections made at the campus.
Marianne Minns is a pivotal member of the Ottawa Valley, as she is an active volunteer and community activist, participating in numerous charitable and fundraising events. She’s also a huge advocate towards destigmatize mental health, as she helps to bring awareness to her son Mike’s founding company, Destig.
Stefani (aka Stefi) van Wijk is a life-long outdoorswoman and the Director of the Madawaska Kanu Centre, Canada’s first whitewater school. She aims to widen and grow the sport of whitewater paddling, as it brings people together for active, playful and growth-oriented experiences outdoors.
Ro Nwosu is connected to her community as a yoga instructor, wellness speaker and co-creator of the Facebook group, She’s In Business: Ottawa Valley. She also believes that collaboration, is an important factor when it comes to growth in the Valley, business sustainability and uplifting women in those same respects.
Valerie Hyska is the owner and operator of Hyska's: Your Independent Grocer in Petawawa. She is also the president of the Petawawa Rotary Club, chair of the Petawawa Business Advisory Network (PBAN) committee, and sits on the board for the Petawawa Housing Corporation.
