After finding a void in the loungewear market, Ashley Freeborn attended a summer fashion program, and together with her mother, co-founder Teresa, put their creative minds together, and designed and produced a line of comfortable one-piece rompers for women.
Ashley talks about Smash + Tess’ comfy, fashionable and inclusive sized rompers, what it was like working with Hilary Duff and collaborating with other influencers, her experience having her baby in the NICU during a pandemic, and how Smash + Tess was ahead of the game before the 2021 loungewear trend.
In 2020, Smash + Tess was named by the Globe and Mail as the #1 female founded growth company. Most recently, she was named as one of Canada’s Top 40 under 40. Smash + Tess has been featured in US Weekly, STAR, Elle Canada, Vogue and their rompers are worn by celebrities like Kate Hudson, Gabrielle Union, and Emma Roberts.
