Description

Thyda Thaung is the founder of Thaung Enterprise, running the largest salt farm in Cambodia both for domestic consumption and export, located in southern Cambodia, Kampot province. Thyda founded the enterprise to help bring together the local community and connect salt producers to local and international markets. Thyda is the winner of the 2018 Cambodia’s Young Women Entrepreneur Awards. She also won the second prize of the 2020 National Entrepreneurship Awards.

What we dive into:

- How Thyda built Thaung Enterprise into the market-leading company in the salt industry in Cambodia.

- Building a differentiated product; raw material vs. fully packaged and branded product, making production more efficient through tech deployment and negotiating relationships with unique export markets.

- Why discipline, having consistency in action, is the most important trait to have when pursuing your passions.

Thyda has also been selected as one of The Exceptional candidates by ABC Extra Stout which recently launched the 'The Exceptional' campaign to celebrate exceptional Cambodians and to inspire the next generation of young Cambodians to discover what it means to “Be Exceptional”.
