Episode 13 - Pulsing Black While Moving - Janella Elder and Emma Ombogo bring us into their world as dancers and give a cross-cultural Black perspective on the evolution of their love for dance.Their experiences showcase how  performing arts are deeply interwoven into the social and healing fabric of Black Culture.

JANELLA - “MY FIRST DANCE PERFORMANCE WAS ACTUALLY TAP. I WAS THE ONLY PERSON THAT LOOKED LIKE ME IN THE ROOM AND BECAUSE I LIKED BALLROOM, I WENT IN THERE, DANCED AND THE PERSON HOSTING WAS LIKE ‘YEAH, I WANT HER TO BE MY PARTNER.’ “

EMMA - “I WASN’T SURE DANCE WAS A THING FOR ME AFTER BEING AWAY FROM IT FOR SO LONG. AS I HAVE GROWN IN THE FITNESS INDUSTRY, ITS HELPED MY WEIGHT, BUILDING MUSCLE, ITS DEFINED MY BODY IN VARIOUS WAYS.”
