I'd like you to meet an inspirational
young woman Emma Hakansson and hear her powerful message about what is best to
help children disclose if they have been abused.
Emma tried to disclose to her mother that
she was being abused by saying the person was "weird", thinking her
mother would understand. Unfortunately, as adults, we don't always have shared
meaning in language with children, and Emma's insight, through her lived
experience, is so valuable.
