On the same day as the 10th anniversary of the dedication of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. monument, politicians found a way to block Voting Rights legislation that would have expanded the right to vote for most Americans. The irony of celebrating a monument dedicated to a man who was assassinated by the same systems that struck down the rights he lived his life fighting for is appalling.
