Kenya Aissa, MS., is a Holistic Empowerment Coach, public speaker, training facilitator, and yoga teacher. She began working with women diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and substance abuse issues in the late 1990s, which is when her study of holistic health, ayurveda, and medicinal herbalism began. As a mental health professional, she has a particular interest in the connection of food and mood disorders in the Black community. Her 2018 book, “Sacred Girl: Spiritual Life Skills for Conscious Young Women,” was inspired by a spirituality group that she created for young women, and translated into a college workshop series. Her most recent written work, “The Sacred Art of Divine Fearlessness,” was published in November, 2019, as part of a book compilation, “Coffee & Conversation: Warm Cups of Self-Care”, a book written by women, for women.
