We are proud to present the City of Chester By Election Special podcast hosted by your absolutely fabulous and amazingly brilliant, witty and ridiculously talented 'Ab Fab', the delicious digital pub landlord Jonathan Starkey, with regular panelists Trevor Nicholls (the Gazelle), Mark Hartley (Stats Man) and Steve Ingram (formerly Lycra Man, the Raven (C-Caw), the Patriot, Captain Crow, Captain Pugwash lookalike, potential Eurovision Song Contest entrant (but not from Russia) and lately Right Engle and Captain Circumference 360º) dropping in to air their views on the evening in a sometimes irreverent, sometimes humorous, sometimes serious but always entertaining way.
Best part of the evening was a drop in interview with Howling Lawd Hope, Leader of the Monster Raving Looney Party. Stats and the Raven did some one on one interviews with a selection of the candidates who stood and these will be uploaded in due course.

CHESHIRE MATTERS OPINION: Yes Labour won the seat but turnout was low in comparison to the 2019 election results. Turnout was only 41.2% which represents 28,541 votes out of an electorate of approx. 65,000 eligible to vote. Labour should be asking some very searching questions as to how they lost 10,000 of their voters who voted in 2019 yet failed to turn up to vote for their candidate in this election. Well done to all the others candidates who stood, with a special mention for the Monster Raving Looney Party. Not an easy task to put your head above the parapet for what you believe in. We have encouraged the Raven to do this so that Stats, the Gazelle and myself can be ready with the Wack-a-Mole hammers to knock him down. In fact, we're also now campaigning to the Electoral Commission for all ballot papers to include a section to vote for 'None of the Above'. We wager voting numbers would swiftly rise!!!!
Enjoy!
