Listen

Description

Startled by a playful prank, Karen was unexpectedly triggered into re-experiencing a terrifying memory from childhood, also know as PTSD. As she eventually sought comfort from her girlfriend group, she was further traumatized by the extreme reaction of one friend.

Karen vulnerably shares her story and honest recognition that, although she had worked to heal her childhood trauma, some learned behavioral patterns, like compulsive caregiving, were showing up in her present-day relationships.

Listen as she explains how Observed and Experiential Integration therapy (OEI), a somatic method for resolving trauma, as well as writing, helped her take ownership of her experiences and create healthier relationships going forward.
