I think that the level of self-criticism that we have is outrageous as we set unachievable goals for ourselves and then we beat ourselves up for missing them or the bigger problem is that we fail to remember our wins whenever we face losses. I think that both are just as important as both offer us a valuable lesson. In victory, we learn what to do and in defeat, we learn what not to do, at the same time we have to analyze our victories for possible shortcomings, we also have to analyze our losses for things done well and then work on the things that we need to work on without diminishing the things that we succeeded at.
"Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure." - George Edward Woodberry
