To be honest, I don’t think aliens exist. I think the idea of finding “intelligent life” is a misinformed question that fails to acknowledge the breadth of types of existence here on earth.
For example. I’ve seen clips of dogs talking, dolphins and elephants painting, but never humans speaking elephant or otherwise meaningfully interacting with “intelligent” life’s existence here on earth. So if we can’t even sufficiently empathize with the higher order systems here on earth, we won’t even begin to understand an 'other' that originates on another galaxy and treat it equitably.
