Welcoming Everyone Grosse Pointe (We GP) is a community-based organization that was founded after the 2016 election to resist attacks on civil and human rights. We GP provides opportunities for social engagement, community building, political engagement and activism.
On June 22, 2019, We GP will host their third annual Grosse Pointe Pride March, beginning at Grosse Pointe High School at 10 a.m. and ending at Maire Elementary School. The event will include a community choir and a small gathering with food trucks, with a portion of the proceeds supporting Outserve, an organization that provides resources for LGBTQ military service members.
Sen. Adam Hollier (D–Detroit) represents citizens of the 2nd District in Wayne County that includes the cities of Detroit, Grosse Pointe, Grosse Pointe Farms, Grosse Pointe Park, Grosse Pointe Woods, Hamtramck, Harper Woods and Highland Park, and the Village of Grosse Pointe Shores. He is an avid problem solver and is leading Michigan to do better.
