Big Idea: Every honest question deserves an honest answer!

1. How can God “regret” in Genesis 6:6? 

2 Cor 7:10

For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, but worldly grief produces death. 

Romans 2:4

Or do you despise the riches of his kindness, restraint, and patience, not recognizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

2. How can there be sin in a perfect universe? 

Isaiah 52:9

Be joyful, rejoice together, you ruins of Jerusalem! For the Lord has comforted his people; he has redeemed Jerusalem. 

1 John 3:4

Everyone who commits sin practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.

3. If God is all-powerful, why would he sacrifice his son?

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. 

Revelation 5:9-10 

And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.”

2. Is there a mistake in your past that you regret?  
• How are you working through this regret?
• How do you ensure your past mistakes don’t happen again?
• How does God view your past mistakes? Use Scripture to support your answer. 
3. What is the least cost your smallest sin requires?
4. Spend time thanking God for his sacrificial love this week.
