In 1873, off the coast of New England sits a collection of islands called the Isle of Shoals. Smuttynose Island is a small island of only around 25 acres. It is home to the Hontvet family. Befriending a lone fisherman and welcoming into their family turns out to be a fatal move as tragedy strikes the family.
