In October of 1997 Loomis Fargo employee David Ghannt was unhappy. Money was tight and he had bills to pay. Along with the nudge from some friends he decided to rob his company's warehouse. Overnight 17.3 million dollars in cash was loaded into a van and driven away. In a complicated investigation several different players were involved and finding them was not easy. Having all of that cash it was hard not to spend it and draw attention to yourself. Join us as we follow the story and investigation that lead up to 21 people indicted for larceny, a hired murder plot, and a joy trip turned bad to Mexico. This is the story of the Loomis Fargo Robbery of 1997 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Years later it would be turned into a comedy by Hollywood. Maybe you have seen it. It's called Masterminds.
