BODY-ODY-ODY-ODY-ODY-ODY
Seriously....I talk about the ever confusing tug of war girls find themselves in while growing up. We're told to love ourselves and our bodies, while seemingly everyone else is telling us our bodies are something to be hidden. We shame developing young girls by always telling them to cover up even when they are already clothed "appropriately." I detail how this policing of our bodies happens at home, in schools and the workplace.
Have you thought about the impact of what that does to girls as they grow up? Also, I get pretty heated about dress codes and how I have been haunted by them into adulthood even when I follow them.
I lightly touch on rape culture, and how we can change that by simply doing a better job at how we educate our children-at home. To be frank the older generations are a lost cause to me. I discuss the importance of placing blame with perpetrators and not victims, and break down why that's the main issue.
WEEKLY GOAL: Enforcing my boundaries AND saying "No."
