Six years ago, Alex Felice was broke. He was selling cars and just going through the motions of life living month-to-month like so many people. But it was his commitment to self-responsibility that he looked for ways to self-improve. He sought out all the information he needed about real estate and fast-forward to 2020, he closed on a 52-unit, $3.2 million syndication apartment, started flipping houses, and quit my full-time job.

Through his website Broke is a Choice, Alex is able to educate people about real estate investing, having found an easy way to do it.

Here are some power takeaways from today’s conversation:

Episode Highlights:

3 Things You Need to Do to Achieve Perfect Happiness

Having a Sense of Self-Responsibility

People will help you and they will help you selflessly – but the one thing they won't do is help you more than you're willing to help yourself. And so every day when you think you didn't work on yourself, just know that nobody worked on it more than you did. And that’s the key. And interestingly enough, the more you work on yourself, the more people want to be part of it. This is where empowerment comes from and you begin to climb that ladder to success.

If you set aside a little time to self-improve, that will compound over time and somebody else will notice you, they'll grab you, and then you can really go far.

Why Creating Wealth is Easy

People think the journey to creating wealth is way harder than it is. You can’t hope for your employer to pay you enough so you can retire on it. They're going to pay you enough for you to come back to work the next day. They don't want to help you retire.

So what happens is people look for help in the wrong place. And you have to learn how to help yourself. All of the information that you could ever possibly want is on the internet – and more and it's not even hiding – you just never ever look for it.

The ability to change your life has never in human history been easier because of your cell phone. Instead of screwing around looking at memes and cat pictures, google a podcast about personal finance. Or find people in your area that are doing the same thing, or are doing what you want to do or become.

Go look for help and answers because they’re not hiding. Part of it is about immersing yourself in different communities and different like-minded people. It will happen by accident if you do it enough. But if you can be intentional, it will happen faster and better.
