I recently sat down with Montreal singer-songwriter Peggy Hogan aka Hua Li (pronounced whoAH-lee) to discuss her latest full length album "Ripe fruit falls but not in your mouth".
I was made aware of Hua Li through her collab with our mutual Friend Gayance on their 2023 smash "Clout Chasers anthem". Naturally I jumped on the opportunity to sit down with the “half-Chinese, half-militant, half-rapper" to talk about everything.
I learn about her upbringing in Vancouver, her parents influence and the experiences that shaped her youth. Through our conversation I find out how she made her way to Montreal and the attitude and dedication required to making it work no matter what.
Truly an inspiring, hard working artist.
We then talk about her latest album before delving into the stems of her song "In the Fall".
