Description

Truly, one of the only good things to come out of COVID was this mans energy - i'm joined today by "The Flavor Lab" founder and host Norm Gallant to talk about his budding YouTube cooking show.

We start the show by talking about his beard & the hilariously random story about how he got to know episode 25 guest Chris Sampson. We talk about how COVID took a toll on his energy and how social media was a difficult but responsible hurdle to maneuver prior to the show.

We then get into the show! The Flavor Lab is filmed right in Norms kitchen, and he explains the all around process: cooking, recording, editing, and the trial and error that goes into it all. Norms brutally honest description of his cooking ability makes his creations even more approachable, and he talks about his experience and history in the kitchen prior to starting the show.

We then talk about my two favorite F words: Food, and Family! Norm explains how his mom and his upbringing in small town Newfoundland both directly inspires his current culinary fixtures while also sparking the pure nostalgia of growing up - nothing makes memories like meals. Norm explains how moving out and getting healthy threw him into the fire and how it helped develop his passion for cooking.

We also talk about life in the kitchen with his girlfriend, and the challenges and successes they share as a couple making food! Norm shares an absolutely hilarious story about his girlfriends parents you wont wanna miss... We then end the show breaking down Norms dream sports spread for the big game - what would Norm have on the table, and what goes with it!?

You can find all The Flavor Lab episodes on YouTube by searching "Norm Gallant" and/or "The Flavor Lab" - it's a growing brand I have alot of faith in, and hearing Norm share his experience so far and his vision for the future was a blast. Until next time Norm, cheers brother, and good luck with the content!
