Identity groups are a great place to start but that’s not where you should end. I had the opportunity to hear a great presentation by Dr. Karl Reid during the STEM success summit in which he made a point about networking outside your identity group. Later on that week a co-worker asked me why I got involved in groups like SHPE and internal ERGs as well. Just a coincidence in events but enough to share what I shared.
