State of the Arts Episode 153 now available on Spotify. Pratt Institute graduate D.L. Skandle is an accomplished illustrator and author. Her self-published children's book "Little Duckie's Day" is a delightful celebration of parenting during early childhood. As a mom of a young daughter, she drew inspiration from her own life experience for this adorable book. After publication, "Little Duckie's Day" was met with rave reviews. This heartwarming work was warmly recieved by both parents and children at book readings. D.L. Skandle also illustrated for another children's book called "Fluffless, A Squirrel's Tale" written by Matt Bergin. Her work can be found online on Amazon and littleduckieweb.wixsite.com . Along with her works for children are striking paintings she created for adults. These captivating pieces address important issues including alcoholism and domestic abuse. They also celebrate diversity, creativity and wildlife. D.L. Skandle is a good friend of mine whom I met in the wonderful world of dance.
