The problems of the world often seem to be too much to handle. Life comes at you hard and fast sometimes without warning and other times without answers or directions. A yoke was made of wood, hand-carved to fit the neck and shoulders of the animal to prevent pain or discomfort.
Matthew 11:29-30 ESV Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. [30] For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Jesus is inviting me to give Him my yoke and take His Yoke. Lean who He, that is to get to know Him on a personal basis. Then I will find rest in Him from the burdens of the world. He wants me to submit to His will. In other words, step back and let Jesus work, on my behalf. His shoulders can take on my burdens of world whether they are health, finance, family or other. Jesus is telling me to be humble and gentle as I allow the Holy Spirit to lead me. In his is rest. I need a place to rest and
gather myself. In Jesus, He is such a place.
Hebrews 4:11ESV Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. Praise His name for being merciful as He gives me rest.
