On August 12, 1997, 20-year-old Ricky Cowles Jr., was found lying on the floor of his apartment. He had been shot in the head, and hit with a claw hammer. He went into a coma, and died days later.
A local drug dealer was arrested for his murder, and also pointed the finger at Ricky's girlfriend Amy Preasmeyer, and her friend Jennifer Kellogg. All were charged, and sentenced for murder.
