Melanie Maganias’ lifelong passion is photography and photojournalism. She loves the camera’s immediate and spontaneous capacity to capture the intimacy and varied emotions of her subjects. After acquiring a BFA and an MFA in Photography she taught at Montana State University in addition to introducing the art of photography to school age children. Named one of America’s top 15 Wedding Photographers by PDN, her work has been featured in the New York Times, Forbes Magazine, Martha Stewart Weddings, The Knot, Rangefinder, Big Sky Journal and many other publications. Although her special focus is event photography, she is equally accomplished in documentary, and portraiture. Melanie has been a speaker at Photo Plus, WPPI and has been interviewed by Bride’s, PDN, Rangefinder and in several books. When not on assignment herself, she enjoys spending time with her children and friends.
