In this episode of Beyond Just Christian Podcast, Brenna reads Scripture from the book of Joel. Although Joel consists of three chapters, it touches on the importance of what true repentance looks like.
As we learn from today’s episode, repentance is
more than asking for forgiveness. It’s also ensuring that our sin is corrected in the future.
Correcting our sin means changing our minds about our sin. Yes, we should acknowledge the repercussions of our sin and ask for forgiveness, but the whole point is to change our mind about our sin. Once our mind is changed, our actions change.

Joel 2:12-13: “That is why the Lord says, ‘Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Don’t tear your clothing in your grief but tear your hearts instead. Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish.’”
