Sex is a messy topic. We all know that. It’s complicated, confusing, and can be damaging to our mental health. Conversations about it are fraught with misconceptions and at times flat-out incorrect information. That’s why discussions like today’s are so important. They give us the opportunity to talk about sex in a safe, clinical, and nonjudgemental place.
In this episode, Jeff has a chat with licensed master of social work and psychotherapist, Tyler Buchiero from Rochester Center for Sexual Wellness. Tyler has a particular interest in working with individuals struggling with sexual functioning problems, as well as intimacy issues and LGBTQIA-related concerns. He works through the lens that the understanding and intervention in these complex life experiences is driven by the strength of the therapeutic relationship. To that end, safety is foundational to all treatment, as is the pursuit of the emotional truth of the situation.
Due to the nature of this episode, we advise that you keep it away from sensitive ears.
And just a reminder, this podcast is educational in nature and not medical advice. If you need medical advice, please seek out the appropriate medical professional.
