In the passage before us, we will hear Paul compare the Christian life to running a race. This is necessary and good for us to hear. If your faith is in Jesus Christ you have entered a long-distance marathon. The Christian life is not a sprint to the finish. It is a way of living in which we are to keep trusting in Christ, we must keep pressing on until God calls us home to our eternal home in heaven.
