In this episode meet Karon Chester who was born in Guyana, South America and immigrated to Canada when she was 11. Karon shares her family's journey to Manitoba and what life was like for her parents and the strong foundation they gave her and her siblings to help them deal with the challenges of being Black in Canada. Karon talks about the shifting political landscape in Manitoba and the many "first" for people of African, Caribbean, Black descent. Karon also shares the work that she, her husband, and her children do bringing Black History to their children's school.
