Alan starts with a disclaimer because we talk about some heavy topics. We are speaking from our experiences and our opinions and respect that others have different feelings about what we are talking about. We encourage you to journal about what comes up and not allow it to fester or build. Lots and lots of firearms. Bre goes to the range to zero in her rifle for hunting season. She gets to shoot some other firearms that her friends brought. Alan suggests doing some dryfire at home to get comfortable with your trigger break so you can learn to expect the “surprise.” They talk breath and pulling the trigger is important. Alan shares that his wife shoots all of his guns, so she knows what to expect if she ever needs to use them. Hunting with firearms is a privilege, owning a firearm to defend your home is a right. We suggest that, even if you don’t want to shoot or own firearms, learn about them… don’t just demonize something you know nothing about. It is also important to know your firearms to determine what is appropriate for your needs, as in protecting your home. Alan emphasizes function and efficiency, not what’s cool and sexy. Alan runs through semi-automatic, fully automatic, etc. Media misrepresents, so learn about it yourself, don’t just believe everything you hear. We aren’t saying that bad things don’t happen with guns, they absolutely do, let’s learn more about all sides. Also, remember nobody is coming to save you... don't be a victim and know how to protect yourself!
