Alan starts with a disclaimer because we talk about some heavy topics. We are speaking from our experiences and our opinions and respect that others have different feelings about what we are talking about. We encourage you to journal about what comes up and not allow it to fester or build. Bre opens the episode with some breathing and mindfulness.
Alan picks right up from part one of Firearms and Freedom. He starts talking about the lack of freedom in Australia. The second amendment is second for a reason. When we start losing our first amendment, the second amendment kicks in. The constitution doesn’t allow us to do anything. It simply protects the rights. All we want is FREEDOM! The answer is ALWAYS freedom. We don't get to pick and choose which freedoms we want - and just because you don't like it, doesnt mean others shouldn't have it. Divisiveness is a distraction from the corruption in politics. Bre talks about a book she is reading called The Fourth Turning. Bre and Alan talk about the hypocrisy in politics and how the government is turning us against each other. Alan and Bre talk about COVID-19. Alan talks about being in the military and how every veteran for has fought for ALL freedoms. No government is perfect, we have done an amazing job. Alan shares his opinion - we don't have real problems so we make up shit. Alan brings up Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. Bre talks about her mom escaping communism in Budapest. The goal is disarm citizens - and they can’t fight back. Alan talks about being raised Jewish and how you are told to hide who you are. BE WHO THE FUCK YOU ARE! We are attempting to take away basic human rights - we need to stand up and stand by eachother. Bre and Alan talk about history and the importance of WE THE PEOPLE. Words are EVERYTHING! Bre makes a great point about getting to the root of the problem instead of only treating the symptoms. Since when did we become a “trust” our government crowd.
Journal Prompt: Write about the things you heard - where do you stand? Do you agree? Do you disagree? Reach out for a convo. Why are you scared of guns? The second amendment. Write about what freedom means to you. Bre leads us through a breathing exercise.
