Alan and Bre catch up on Alan’s trip to Alaska. Hunting season is upon us. Alan shares his opening weekend. Bre is overwhelmed by all she has taken on for her first season. A couple dad jokes before they get into some more serious talks. Alan’s friend died. There is alot of reflection during these losses. Alan asks could you die knowing you were content in life? Bre talks about her perspective shifts around death and how she honors the people who have passed. Alan discusses how we are meaning making machines and how are you living the life you do get. Bre gives a shout out @indigenoustrail, he posted
how he dances and runs for those who can’t.
They talk more about the idea of impermanence… life in general, as well as the dark and hard days. Alan emphasizes that THIS WORLD IS BETTER WITH YOU IN IT. Don’t hold back, share and tell people how much you love them. It is suicide awareness month, please reach out if you need support, we need you in this world, you impact the world. The conversation shifts into fear of death and how the pandemic has heightened this fear and also inhibited the quality of life.
We all don’t realize the impact we actually have and the importance of human connection and we are losing that in the lockdowns and all of the mandates. We are not meant to experience life alone. Alan plans to live his life and plans to be connected with his loved ones. Bre makes a great point - we forgot the human in all of this life. We have lost humanity in labels. Anonymity relieves people of personal responsibility. Is some of that happening with the masks? Can no longer see the human behind the mask or non mask. We all want the same things but see it differently!
The media is the tool that the politicians use to divide us and turn us against each other. In the end we all just want love. Alan shares a story about running into some kids, a story of love. What mechanism are you using to ask for/experience/find love? We are love!
