Description

Bre and Alan catch up and start talking about plants and her Lettuce Grow Garden Tower. She has had major success growing food, which is one step closer to Bre’s vision of being self-sustaining with food sources. Go check out the Lettuce Grow website to take the quiz to see how many pods you need.  Alan and Bre talk about sharing their food resources with others, whether that’s wild game, eggs or vegetables. Bre leads us through breath & they briefly talk about resetting with breath, awareness around it, even if it’s just a couple mindful breaths. They talk about Bre’s run through the Thorofare, 62.7 miles in the most remote area in the lower 48. There is no turning back at a certain point, there are no bailout points. We won’t spoil the details of the adventure, give it a listen. They talk about how this relates to life in that we often are in situations where there are “no options” & those times force us to show up for ourselves, to see our potential and expand the conversation into voluntary discomfort. Alan shares how he is less disturbed by the harder things in life because he has built confidence through jiu jitsu, finding a state of being relaxed in stress. Alan shares his perspective on how mortality affects his approach to life. The conversation shifts to a brief conversation around death & their perspectives on it & relationship to it. Coming back to voluntary discomfort & that it doesn’t have to be this crazy run, it can be talking to a stranger, saying yes to an event that makes you nervous. Show yourself your potential. Alan says walk towards your fear! Use courage to replace confidence.

Journal Prompt: Throw a little pity party & move on… Start with what if everything went wrong & follow up with what if everything worked out, the best possible outcome, what would life look like if you were courageous. Write about how you are going to take the chance!

Jim Rohn quote - “Set a goal to become a millionaire for what it makes of you to achieve it.  Do it for the skills you have to learn and the person you have to become.”
