An incredibly raw chat about life and mental health, with a man that chases down the biggest waves in the world for fun, Brenden Newton. An ex-professional bodyboarder, a father and husband, Brenden blows the lid off what it's like to live with a mental illness such as obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). 

In this episode, Brenden gives us an insight into what it was like living with OCD in his younger years and the struggle he still faces today. An honest and open conversation about highs and lows, as well as his achievements in professional bodyboarding, such as creating documentaries and landing on the front pages of magazines with mind-blowing images from his bodyboarding expeditions. 

The work he does with the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME) is also another captivating chapter in the life of Brenden. He reveals why he rejected the idea of teaching as soon as he finished studying a four-year degree in Physical and Health Education and how it led to something that makes him feel extremely fulfilled and like he is making a true difference in kids lives.
