When you meet Alaia, it doesn't take too many seconds before she drops the J-word, the Jesus word. She’s unapologetic and unashamed about sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, how He has radically transformed her life and she has good reason to…
First, Alaia had a supernatural-spectacular encounter with “God” when she was sixteen years old that led her on a quest for Spiritual Truth for the next twelve to thirteen years. Though she had encountered the living God supernaturally-spectacularly, she didn’t know how to build upon that experience, she had encountered God supernaturally-spectacularly but she was yet to encounter God as the “Living Word’ in His Written Word.
Most people who encounter God supernaturally-spectacularly, like Alaia, are often left reeling and asking; how can I trap this spectacular experience and keep it with me forever?!
This craving very often coerces idolatry, we try to put a face to God, imagining who He is and His physical attributes (if that even applies), we create an idol from our imagination.
But scripture says in John 4:24; “God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and Truth ”
You see, what Alaia experienced was physical manifestation of the Spirit of God. But she didn’t know she could keep encountering Him through the Living Word that is Truth.
Alaia’s quest led her to doing Yoga on top of the Himalayas, meditating for fifteen hours with Budhist Monks in Tibet, awakening her “Kundalini spirit”, New Age, Astrology, Mediums and many other such rituals for spiritual truth and enlightenment.
If these practices had delivered on their promises - she was willing to keep paying the price of these rituals but they hadn’t delivered! She cried out, “God what else must I do to find you?, I’ve done everything I can do but you are unreachable.” And her frustrations only got worse!!!
Unbeknownst to her, her cries were heard but the response happened in the most unusual way.
Alaia had run into a friend at lunch a few days before who mentioned their encounter with the name of Jesus and their own supernatural manifestations with “Jesus”. When she went back home, that night she mockingly started using the Lord’s name in vain while reading her tarot cards and something happened…three globs of demons manifested and came out of her tarot cards and guess what card she was reading that day, “the devil card”. Coincidence? I think not.
Fast forward after giving her life to the Lord Jesus Christ, she has again encountered Him supernaturally-spectacularly on flights when she goes on Flight attendant duty and in many other ways in her everyday living.
