Description

Thank you for joining this week’s edition of the Albany Update.

Let’s begin today’s program by looking at two recent Supreme Court decisions, one is widely seen as a refusal to properly recognize religious liberty, while the other was a real win for donor confidentiality—especially in the current cancel culture climate.

Then, the state hasn’t even gotten its recreational weed regulations out and already there is a legislative suggestion to legalize more drugs in the next legislative session.

Before we get to the next legislative session, though, we’ve got to get kids back to school. A group of private school leaders has asked Governor Cuomo to get moving and quickly issue whatever guidance is necessary to get kids back in the classroom—and to do so without a masking requirement.

Finally, we’re going to dive a little deeper into New York City politics and look at the results from the Mayoral Primary and an experiment called rank choice voting.

Let’s get started.
