Thank you for giving this week’s edition of the Albany Update a listen.
On August 30, 2023, while speaking at a press conference in Kentucky, U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) froze for 30 seconds and appeared unable to speak. After being approached by two aides, Sen. McConnell was able to begin talking again. The Senator’s office later stated that he had become lightheaded. Sen. McConnell’s health situation is only one of several that prompt a larger question: How should the nation respond to the problem of high-level government leaders suffering serious health problems or displaying signs of age-related decline? In this week’s episode, we’ll discuss that very topic.
Let’s get started.
