Forgiveness is at the heart of Scripture, from start to finish. Hence, it's an issue of major importance to God. The same holds true for how He views our unwillingness to forgive others.
The parable that I teach from in Mt. 18:21-35 essentially teaches that if we want God's forgiveness (who gives it when we ask sincerely, if we're united with Jesus) -- but then we refuse to forgive others -- there are horrible consequences for our own bitterness.
