On this episode of the Shepherdcast, after some nice words from veteran (and, this week, lay reader) Bill Bowman, we will be taking a look at Micah 4:1-5, Psalm 85, Ephesians 2:13-18, and the Gospel of John 20:19-23, and the Reverend Scott J. Anderson will be discussing Armistice Day, Veteran’s Day, freedom, and peace. Today’s episode came from our worship service that not only celebrated Veteran’s Day 2018, but the 100th anniversary of the World War I Armistice, on Sunday, November 11, 2018.
(A little heads up on those words from Bill at the beginning: his microphone was knocked sideways for most of it. You’ll probably hear the part, actually, where we fixed that, but by then Bill was almost onto the readings. While we were able to recover what he said, there is a little static during that part of the podcast. We apologize for that! If you want to skip over Jake's apology for that mess-up, start listening at 1:34.)
In case you are reading along with a Bible and our readings don’t necessarily match up with yours, we use the NRSV translation of the Holy Bible.
