Description

Jon Brouwer is hands down one of the most interesting humans I have ever had the privilege of knowing. He has an insatiable intellectual hunger that drives him to be constantly learning. He becomes obsessed with certain topics and goes deep, learning everything there is to learn about them. He is a global thinker, with a unique talent of unemotionally broadening his perspective to see the bigger picture. He’s pursuing a degree in computer science and statistics at the University of Illinois, and he brings that type of systematic and analytical thinking to all his intellectual pursuits.
This wide-ranging conversation features a variety of topics, including nuclear weapons, nuclear winter, disaster preparation, renewable energy production, nuclear fusion, alien life, the Fermi paradox, artificial intelligence, the nature of consciousness, universal basic income, and presidential candidate Andrew Yang. If you enjoy deep and intellectually stimulating conversation, you'll love this one!
